Why 100% Silicone
When it comes to glide, 100% medical-grade silicone is the gold standard for both men and women. It’s body-friendly, totally inert (so it won’t mess with your chemistry), hypoallergenic, and built to last, a few drops go the distance. No weird smells, no sticky aftermath—just silky-smooth, friction-free fun.
FAQ
Is Jems silicone lube safe?
Yes! Our formula is 100% medical grade silicone (dimethicone and dimethiconol). No water, glycerin, parabens, fragrances, preservatives, spermicide or other extras you don’t need. Both ingredients are hypoallergenic, non-irritating and widely used in medical devices and skincare.
Jems is anhydrous, meaning without water, so it doesn't have pH or osmolality (and that’s a good thing!)
Is it condom-friendly?
Totally. Pure silicone lube is safe with natural-rubber latex, polyisoprene and polyurethane condoms—it won’t weaken them. (Oil-based stuff like coconut oil still breaks latex, so stick with silicone or water-based.)
Can I use it for vaginal and anal sex?
Yes. Silicone lube is pH-neutral, won’t feed yeast or bacteria, and keeps its slip even during water play! A pea-sized dab goes a long way; add more if you want mega-glide.
How do I use it?
Start tiny. One drop is often enough—seriously.
Apply where you want it. Body, toy, inside a condom—your call.
Re-up if needed. You’ll notice it lasts way longer than water-based lube.
Does it work in water (shower, pool, hot tub)?
Sure does. Silicone resists rinsing, so it stays slick even under water.
Can I use it with sex toys?
Great with: glass, metal, ABS plastic, ceramic, jade.
Careful with: silicone toys—another silicone can bond with the surface and make it tacky. Check for high quality silicone, your toy maker’s advice or do a patch test on the base.
How do I wash it off skin or sheets?
Mild soap + warm water breaks it down. On fabric, pre-treat with dish soap, then launder as usual. (Silicone is clear, so stains are rare—just slippery.)
Does it expire?
3 years from fill date (check the lot/EXP stamp).
How should I store it?
Room temp, cap closed, out of direct sun. Avoid leaving it in a boiling-hot car—the bottle’s fine, but heat can thin the texture.
Is it vegan and cruelty-free?
100%. No animal ingredients or testing—ever.
Medical classification?
In both Canada and the U.S., personal lubricants like ours are classified as Class II medical devices and require regulatory clearance (FDA 510(k) in the U.S.; Health Canada Medical Device Licence in Canada). Jems meets all of it.
Does it prevent pregnancy or STIs?
Nope—lube adds pleasure and comfort but is not birth control or an STI barrier. Pair it with a condom or other protection if that’s your goal.
Will it cause reactions?
Silicone is considered non-comedogenic and sit on top of skin rather than soaking in. It is also free of usual irritants (glycerin, benzocaine, propylene glycol, parabens, etc.) If you have super-sensitive skin, patch-test first, but most folks find silicone lube ultra-gentle.
